A Bold Splash of Colour for Every Garden
The Clematis Hosi-no Flamenco is a true garden standout, known for its large red flowers. This vigorous and eye-catching climber flowers from early summer into late autumn, providing months of striking colour and visual interest. Its rich tones are especially effective when paired with lighter-coloured flowers or foliage, making it a dynamic addition to both modern and traditional South African gardens.
Vigorous Growth with a Manageable Size
Growing to a height of 2 metres, Hosi-no-Flamenco is perfect for training up trellises, fences, arches, or pergolas. Despite its strong flowering performance, it maintains a tidy, manageable habit that suits both large and small spaces. It thrives in full sun to part shade, and like most clematis, it appreciates cool, shaded roots—an easy fix with mulch or companion plantings.
Simple Care, Spectacular Results
This variety belongs to Pruning Group 2, meaning it’s easy to care for: just give it a Light prune in late winter (July–August), cutting stems back to 20 cm above the ground. This encourages fresh, vigorous growth and maximizes the flower display. Its resilience and reliable blooming habit make Romona an excellent choice for both novice and experienced gardeners.
A Proven Performer in South African Conditions
Well-suited to a wide range of South African climates, Romona performs best in well-drained soil with consistent moisture and good air circulation. Its long flowering season and bold colour make it ideal for creating living walls, garden screens, or vibrant vertical accents. If you’re looking to add drama, depth, and long-lasting beauty to your garden, Hosi-no-Flamenvo delivers with flair and dependability.
