Shipping Policy

Orders can be shipped nationwide. We negotiated a good deal with The Courier Guy team in order to ship a large box (45cm x 45cm x50cm) with a maximum weight of 25kg to anywhere in SA at a cost of R185 ex VAT. We can therefore ship a maximum of up to 6 plants in a large double wall box at a shipping cost of R185 ex VAT.
For smaller orders, the shipping per plant would unfortunately be more expensive at a cost of R75 ex VAT per plant.

The shipping is insured by The Courier Guy. We have been doing business with them for many years with very few problems with regards to damages or delays.

CLAIMS AND RETURNS: No plant material will be accepted for return unless it is found to be unhealthy or damaged. Any damages in shipping must be reported at once to us and the carrier. Berries For Africa warrants that all plants will be true to name and in good condition when they leave the nursery, but cannot guarantee their survival. We are not liable for any amount over the purchase price. Any claims on plant material must be made in writing within 5 days of the received date.

We sometimes get asked about exporting:
The order process for exporting plants outside South Africa is as follows:
1) Depending on the batches of plants currently growing we can estimate what date they will be ready and can send you a quotation on the specific berry plants and quantities.
2) After receiving payment, we can reserve the plants for you from batches that are already growing and further grow and harden them off, or if we need to start a new batch from new. Please note that some berry types and varieties can take up to 12 months to grow before we send them.
3) You will need to acquire an import permit for the specific plants from your local department of agriculture and send it to us.
4) We will then use the import permit to apply for a phytosanitary certificate at our local Department of Agriculture to certify that the plants are free from viruses, diseases, pathogens and pests.
5) As soon as the payment is finalized, all the necessary documents are received and processed, the plants can then be exported via airfreight. Road freight is also an option with some neighboring counties.

Shipping and delivery dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed by Berries For Africa. The availability of the Goods is subject to crop conditions and/or errors in count. Orders for Goods shall be subject to cancellation without liability by Berries For Africa if the Goods are damaged or delivery is delayed by weather, disease, fire, natural disaster, riot, vandalism, terrorist act, governmental act, inability to obtain competent labour, disruption in transportation, or any other cause beyond Berries For Africa's control.
