Liriopes, commonly known as lilyturfs, are evergreen flowering plants which form thick clumps of grass like foliage. They are unique ground covers equally happy growing in full sun or shade. Aechmea gamosepela, the ‘matchstick bromeliad’ has mid-green leaves with rounded tips. It reaches a height of approx 30cm.
Endemic to southern Brazil.It produces spikes topped with pink flowers with blue tips. Once open, the blue tips reveal pink flowers with a blue throat.

Agapanthus praecox Barley Blue
Beautiful, short stemmed agapanthus. Barley Blue is one of the earliest to start flowering. Very floriferous and hardy. Up to 12-15 stems on a mature plant. If you do not have a spot in the garden, just pop them into pots for a marvelous color splash. Agapanthus plants are very easy to grow, they love to be in a sunny spot, but will tolerate some shade. Feed them regularly with a balanced organic fertilizer.
These plants are sold open ground, but fully rooted. Excellent for mass planting. Because they are so hardy and easy to grow, they will establish themselves in a very short period of time, and give a breathtaking flowering show.

Blue spires of flowers make this a stunning addition to a garden. This is a fast growing and tough perennial plant that grows in dry or clay or poor soil, but does need drainage. Bees love the flowers.
The blue flower spires can be up to 2 feet in length. Cut the spent flower spikes and finger pinch / gently prune to maintain a dense habit.
