Mackaya Bella also known as the forest-Bell-Bush is a hardy evergreen shrub native to South Africa. It is known for its dark green glossy leaves and its beautiful lilac or white trumpet shaped flowers that bloom profusely in spring and summer.
The plant shrives in shaded and partially shaded and is ideal for garden settings where it can be used as a screen or in containers. It requires well drained soil and regular watering especially during growing season. It is a tall, rambling plant growing into a large shrub up to 3m high which can be placed in full sun or partly shade. It can be planted in array or soil and climate conditions. The plant is extremely cold and heat tolerant and can withstand temperatures of -40’C to +38’C. It can be grown in a wide soil ph level between 6.5 and 8.0. It prefers well drained loamy soils and does not grow well in soggy conditions. It bears very healthy berries which place it in the top 10 of all superfoods! The fruit is high in anti-oxidants, proteins, complex of vitamins B and C, amino acids and many essential vitamins and minerals.

The raspberry plant is an upright growing, semi-self supporting shrub which should be placed in full sun or partly shade. It prefers well drained, light sandy or sandy-loam soils with a ph level between 5.8 and 6.8 (KCl). Well decomposed compost should preferably worked into the soil before planting. It bears edible berries which can be used for fresh eating, juice, jams, tarts, deserts or teas. it is a flori-cane variety which will bear fruit twice per year, once in spring and a second time in autumn.
