NEW RELEASE – 3 October 2026

💗 A truly exciting new colour for the agapanthus family! Agapanthus ‘Poppin’ Pink’ is a striking new South African introduction, producing vibrant, solid-pink flower heads above neat, evergreen foliage.

After 21 years of breeding and selection, ‘Poppin’ Pink’ brings a colour that has been remarkably elusive in agapanthus: a rich, clear pink that really stands out in the garden.

🌸 Why we love Agapanthus ‘Poppin’ Pink’

• 🌺 Bright solid-pink flowers – a wonderful change from the traditional blue, purple and white agapanthus.
• ☀️ Loves sunshine – plant in full sun for the best flowering and strongest colour.
• 🌿 Evergreen foliage – attractive strappy foliage provides year-round structure.
• 🌸 Repeat flowering – successive flushes of flowers can extend the flowering display.
• 💧 Heat and drought tolerant once established – an excellent choice for South African gardens.
• 🪴 Excellent in containers – its compact, clumping habit makes it suitable for pots, patios and smaller gardens.
• 🌱 Great for mass planting – plant several together for a spectacular sweep of pink.

Where to plant

Plant Agapanthus ‘Poppin’ Pink’ in a sunny border, rockery, mixed perennial bed or container. It combines beautifully with ornamental grasses and plants with silver or soft-green foliage, which allow the vibrant pink flowers to take centre stage.

Give it well-drained soil and plenty of sunshine, and water regularly while it establishes. Once settled, it is a relatively low-maintenance and water-wise addition to the garden.

🇿🇦 A new chapter for a South African favourite

Agapanthus is one of South Africa’s most recognisable garden plants, and ‘Poppin’ Pink’ brings an entirely new colour dimension to this much-loved genus. Developed by South African breeders after more than two decades of breeding work, this is a plant that is as exciting for collectors as it is for everyday gardeners.

A rare opportunity to be among the first to grow this exciting new pink agapanthus.
