The raspberry plant is an upright growing, semi-self supporting shrub which should be placed in full sun or partly shade. It prefers well drained, light sandy or sandy-loam soils with a ph level between 5.8 and 6.8 (KCl). Well decomposed compost should preferably worked into the soil before planting.
