This is a compact, clump-forming deciduous grass with narrow, arching leaves with white midribs, and silky, purple-tinged, curled flower panicles in late summer.
It likes a full sun position. Moist but well–drained soil. Ultimate height 1-1.5m.
Cut it down hard to ankle height in winter.
