Julka produces large striking free flowering dark velvety violet purple blooms with bright red bards. It has contrasting creamy white anthers. Julka flowers from late spring through to summer.

Growing to a height of 2 meters,  Julka is perfect for training up planting in pots with a trellis or obelisk. Despite its strong flowering performance, it maintains a tidy, manageable habit that suits both large and small spaces. It thrives in full sun to part shade, and like most clematis, it appreciates cool, shaded roots—an easy fix with mulch or companion plantings.

Simple Care, Spectacular Results
This variety belongs to Pruning Group 2, meaning it’s easy to care for: just give it a light prune in late winter (July–August), cutting stems back to about 30 cm from ground level when dormant over winter. This encourages fresh, vigorous growth and maximizes the flower display. Its resilience and reliable blooming habit make Julka is an excellent choice for both novice and experienced gardeners.
