Aspidistra is a low maintenance plant with beautiful foliage. The leaves can last up to 3 years. The leaves are ideal for flower arrangements and as an indoor plant. As it prefers shade it is one of the few plants that can grow in dark corners of the garden. It can grow in dryer conditions and wet conditions as long as the soil has good drainage. To get best results water and feed with other plants in the garden and protect it from all sun. The leaves will scorch in any sun. It is a slow growing plant but because the leaves last so long it will form beautiful clumps in a shady spot.
