Heuchera ‘Palace Purple’
Add rich colour and texture to your garden all year round with the award-winning Heuchera ‘Palace Purple’. This striking perennial forms compact mounds of deep burgundy-purple, glossy leaves that shimmer in the light, creating a beautiful contrast with green or silver foliage plants. In late spring to early summer, it produces airy sprays of small creamy-white flowers held high above the leaves on slender stems, adding delicacy and movement to the display.
Perfect for semi-shaded borders, containers, and woodland gardens, Heuchera ‘Palace Purple’ thrives in well-drained, humus-rich soil and enjoys morning sun with afternoon shade, especially in hotter parts of South Africa. It is hardy, easy to grow, and semi-evergreen in mild regions. Water regularly but avoid waterlogging, and feed lightly in spring for best leaf colour and vigour.
This versatile perennial is ideal for adding contrast and depth to mixed plantings, edging paths, or brightening shaded areas with its luxurious foliage.
This clump-forming perennial forms basal mounds, up to 25 cm tall with a spread of 20-30 cm.
This sturdy performer is not only easy to grow, but also requires little maintenance and is pest and disease free!
Performs best in part shade or full shade in rich, humusy, medium moisture, well-drained soils. If grown in full sun, make sure the soil remains consistently moist or the foliage might decline.
It is attractive to butterflies and often ignored by buck.
A spectacular addition to beds, borders, woodland gardens or in containers. Fabulous when planted in groups
Divide clumps in spring every 3-4 years.
