Can peonies grow in South Africa? In South Africa, areas like the Highveld, KZN midlands, higher up parts of the Western Cape and the eastern Free State are typically cold enough for growing peonies. In terms of light, all varieties also require full sun during the day. Choose a spot that receives enough morning sun and some afternoon shade. For warmer summer areas with cold winters offer some afternoon shade otherwise full sun. They don’t need low minus temps but an average of 6 degrees for 45 days a year should be sufficient to promote flowering.PLEASE NOTE: These peony rhizomes will be couriered to you late JULY.SKU: n/aR220.00 -

Blueberry plant
Pretoria, GP
0 out of 5(0)A one year old blueberry plant in a 3L shrub pot
The blueberry plant is an erect, bushy shrub that can be placed in full sun or partly shade. It is cold hardy and can tolerate frost. It grows best in very light, sandy or sandy loam soils which are extremely acidic with a ph level between 4.8 and 5.8 (KCL). A mixture of Sphagnum peat moss, acid compost and sandy soil works well as a growing medium either incorporated into the soil or in 30L or larger containers. The plant will start to produce blueberries after the first winter and continue to produce fruit for more that 15 years. The berries are perfect for eating fresh or for jams, deserts, sauces, smoothies, cakes or juices.
The plant is self-fertile, but it will produce larger berries when cross pollinated with another blueberry plant.
