Trachelospermum jasminoides — commonly known as star jasmine — is a beautiful, evergreen climber loved for both its glossy foliage and sweetly scented flowers. In spring and summer, it produces masses of small, white, star-shaped blooms that fill the air with a rich jasmine-like fragrance, making it a favourite near patios, walkways, and entrances.
This versatile plant can be trained to climb trellises, fences, and pergolas, or used as a dense groundcover. Its neat, dark green leaves provide year-round interest and can develop attractive bronze tones in cooler weather.
Star jasmine thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. Once established, it is relatively low maintenance and moderately drought tolerant, rewarding gardeners with vigorous growth and reliable flowering.
