Mackaya Bella also known as the forest-Bell-Bush is a hardy evergreen shrub native to South Africa. It is known for its dark green glossy leaves and its beautiful lilac or white trumpet shaped flowers that bloom profusely in spring and summer.
The plant shrives in shaded and partially shaded and is ideal for garden settings where it can be used as a screen or in containers. It requires well drained soil and regular watering especially during growing season. It is also known for its ability to attract pollinating insects which makes it a valuable addition to any Landscape.

This is also one of my favourites : A small deciduous shrub with ovate leaves. Lace-cap flower-heads with blue central fertile florets surrounded by white sterile ones which turn with age to pink and crimson, flowering in late spring to summer – which is why it’s known as a Christmas Rose in South Africa. Or hortensia for Europeans.
Deciduous, flowers Nov-Mar (eventual height approx 1m).
The flowers are excellent for cutting
Half sun or shade.
Delicate flowers.
