Stenocactus multicostatus

Crassula ovata, commonly known as the Jade Plant, is a popular succulent native to South Africa. It has thick, glossy, oval-shaped leaves that are usually green but can develop a reddish tinge at the edges when exposed to sunlight. This hardy plant is known for its resilience and can grow as a small shrub or small tree. It blooms with small, star-shaped white or pink flowers in late winter or early spring. Crassula ovata is often kept as an ornamental houseplant and is associated with good luck and prosperity in some cultures.

Pseudolithos caput-vaporae

A rare and fascinating succulent prized by collectors for its unusual, sculptural appearance. Pseudolithos caput-vaporae develops a compact, irregularly shaped body with a distinctive textured surface, resembling a small piece of living stone.

Its unique form and muted green to grey-green colouring make it an excellent choice for specialist succulent collections. A true collector’s plant, it is best grown in a very well-draining, mineral-rich medium with plenty of bright light.

Water sparingly and only when the growing medium is completely dry. Avoid prolonged moisture around the roots, as Pseudolithos can be particularly sensitive to overwatering.

Tylecodon buchholzianus is a winter-growing succulent shrub native to the arid regions of South Africa, particularly the Western and Northern Cape. Like other members of the genus Tylecodon, it is well adapted to long, dry summers and produces leaves only during the cooler growing season.

Characteristics:

• Forms a branching shrub with a thickened, often sculptural base.
• Stems may become woody and grey with age.
• Leaves are fleshy, green, and appear mainly in winter (active growth period).
• Produces tall flower stalks bearing small tubular flowers, usually greenish to yellowish or pinkish depending on form.
• The plant typically enters full dormancy in summer, shedding its leaves.

Cultivation:

• Winter-growing succulent.
• Requires very well-drained soil and a dry summer dormancy.
• Water moderately during autumn–spring growth.
• Keep almost completely dry in summer.
• Prefers full sun to bright light conditions.

Notes:

• Like many Tylecodon species, it contains toxic compounds and should not be consumed by animals or humans
