It is a tall, rambling plant growing into a large shrub up to 3m high which can be placed in full sun or partly shade. It can be planted in array or soil and climate conditions. This rubus plant is an upright growing, semi-self supporting shrub which should be placed in full sun or partly shade. It differs from Rubus Fruticosus which has thorns. It prefers well drained, light sandy or sandy-loam soils with a ph level between 5.8 and 6.8 (KCl). Well decomposed compost should preferably worked into the soil before planting. It bears edible berries which can be used for fresh eating, juice, jams, tarts, deserts or teas. A trellis system can be used to support the branches.
