Pachypodium brevicaule, also known as the Madagascar Elephant’s Foot, is a rare and striking succulent native to the southern regions of Madagascar. It features a flattened, tuberous, cactus-like stem with a very short trunk, giving it a unique appearance. The plant’s bark is pale grey and smooth, with a greenish wood beneath. Its leaves are arranged in compact rosettes, and it produces bright yellow, funnel-shaped flowers during the summer months.
This species thrives in well-draining soil, mimicking its natural rocky habitat. It requires bright, indirect light and should be watered sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Dit het ‘n plat, wortelagtige, kaktusagtige stam met ‘n baie kort stam, wat dit ‘n unieke voorkoms gee. Die plant se bas is liggrys en glad, met ‘n groenige hout daaronder. Sy blare is in kompakte rosettes gerangskik, en dit produseer helder geel, trechtervormige blomme gedurende die somermaande.

While we do offer the option of shipping some plants in their pots, this is generally not advisable. Shipping a plant in its pot can result in root damage due to movement and stress during transit. The roots can become constricted or disturbed, which can harm the plant. If you are still interested in this option, it must be arranged in advance with the vendor, and we will take extra precautions to pack it as securely as possible. However, we highly recommend the bare-root shipping method to ensure the best possible outcome for your plant.
