Lavender Anouk Purple
Lavender Anouk Purple is a beautiful, compact and fragrant lavender that brings colour, texture and a wonderful Mediterranean feel to the garden. This attractive variety produces striking purple-violet flower spikes topped with distinctive purple bracts, creating an eye-catching display above its aromatic grey-green foliage.
A variety of Lavandula stoechas, Lavender Anouk Purple is a freely branching, bushy plant that forms a neat, rounded shape. Its richly coloured flowers are not only beautiful in the garden but are also highly attractive to bees and other pollinating insects. The fragrant blooms make this lavender an excellent choice for a sensory or wildlife-friendly garden.
The plants do best in a sunny position with well-drained soil. Lavender Anouk Purple is well suited to warm, dry conditions once established and should not be planted in areas where the soil remains wet. Good drainage is particularly important for maintaining healthy roots and strong growth.
The fragrant flowers are excellent for cutting and drying. Cut the flower stems while they are fresh and hang them upside down in a cool, dry place. Once dried, the flowers can be used in linen sachets, potpourris, decorative arrangements or simply to add a lovely natural fragrance to a room.
Lavender Anouk Purple is excellent for planting in pots and containers, along pathways, in sunny borders, rock gardens or as part of a Mediterranean-inspired garden. It also works beautifully when planted amongst ornamental grasses and other drought-tolerant plants, adding a splash of rich purple colour and attractive evergreen foliage.
