A robust but short lived biennial or perennial that grows up to 1.5m tall. Also known as Madeira Cranesbill or Giant Herb Robert.
Large clouds of showy purplish-pink flowers 4cm across, with darker centres.
The plant is supposedly not fussy about soil, but it needs to be well drained. (I have no luck with it in my garden though!)
Flowers in Spring. Prefers a full sun or even partial shade.

From late autumn through winter and into early spring, tight clusters of pink buds open into small, star-like white flowers that provide subtle colour and charm when few other plants are flowering.
