A beautiful, deciduous flowering shrub, Deutzia scabra (also commonly misspelled as Deutiza scarba) puts on a spectacular display in late spring and early summer, when its arching branches become covered in clusters of delicate, star-shaped white to pale pink flowers. Its elegant growth habit and abundant blooms make it a wonderful choice for cottage gardens, mixed shrub borders and informal hedging. Easy to grow and wonderfully rewarding, it brings a soft, romantic feel to the garden.
