Crassula – Morgan’s Beauty. Easy growing succulent. Does well in full sun , but best results with morning sun. Very hardy. Grows up to 150mm high when planted in 15cm pots. Single plant will grow steadily spreading to fill the pot. Beautiful pink flowers in August/September in Gauteng, but may be later in Western Cape. One of most sought after succulents

This striking aeonium has dark purple or black succulent leaves. It forms clumps of 3 to 4 feet tall with the stems topped with rosettes of its purple black leaves. Also known as pork bush or elephant’s food. This proudly South African plant , although naturally growing in very dry areas, can be as effective as trees at absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
The soil must be well drained. Compost and fertiliser will encourage quicker growth.
Plants should reach flowering size within 3 – 4 years.
The leaves are edible. The taste of spekboom leaves are pleasant but changes throughout as the sun rises and sets.
Weight: Fully matured spekboom leaves measure 2,2mm in length and 1,89mm in width and weight 0,64g.
