This is also one of my favourites : A small deciduous shrub with ovate leaves. Lace-cap flower-heads with blue central fertile florets surrounded by white sterile ones which turn with age to pink and crimson, flowering in late spring to summer – which is why it’s known as a Christmas Rose in South Africa. Or hortensia for Europeans.
Deciduous, flowers Nov-Mar (eventual height approx 1m).
The flowers are excellent for cutting
