It is a herbaceous perennial which grows annual pseudostems about one meter tall bearing narrow leaf blades. This is a variegated form – which means it has leaves that have white and green stripes.

Acanthus Mollis (also known as wild rhubarb, bears breeches)
This plant has lovely large shiny leaves which make an architectural show.
The tall flower spires are ivory white and purple or slightly pink bracts and appear October – November (spring time) and are a long-lasting cut flower that also dries well.
This plant dies back completely in Autumn and during winter, to appear again the following Spring.
Excellent to plant in dry shade. Although if no water is given, the plants also disappear, thus being relatively drought hardy.
